Assessing the effectiveness of intra-firm supply chain integration practices of construction firms in Nigeria

The ultimate aim of supply chain integration is to achieve effective external between firms in a chain, and the starting point for this broad intra-firm integration. However, extent which functional units/departments integrate within amongst them effectiveness not fully understood. This paper reports results study carried out three purposively selected large construction organisations that operate at national level, with assessing of, their Descriptive statistics was used analyse data collected across organisations. Findings indicated every department engaged internal practices (communication information sharing, coordination resource organisational relationships) varying proportions, equally varied departments. 47% departments high effective, 22% moderate level somewhat integration, while 31% low ineffective. It concluded when effectively done units departments, would enhance operational efficiency integrative capabilities increase competitive performance
